Brazil vs Morocco World Cup 2026:
Match Day Travel Guide for New York
One of the most anticipated group-stage clashes of World Cup 2026 kicks off tomorrow, June 13 at 6 pm ET at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. Here's everything you need to get there, enjoy the fan zone, and navigate match day like a pro.
🇧🇷 Brazil vs 🇲🇦 Morocco
Brazil enter World Cup 2026 as perennial favourites — their yellow shirts filling stands wherever they play. Morocco, who stunned the world with their run to the semi-finals at Qatar 2022, are more than capable of an upset. This is a genuine clash of footballing cultures, and MetLife Stadium — the Final venue — gives it the stage it deserves.
MetLife is the largest stadium in the NFL and the centrepiece of the entire World Cup. If you can only see one match in New York, this is it.
🚇 Getting to MetLife Stadium
MetLife Stadium is in East Rutherford, NJ — about 8 miles from Midtown Manhattan. On match days, NJ Transit runs dedicated direct service.
Take the NJ Transit Meadowlands line from Penn Station (33rd St) — direct to MetLife on match days. Journey ~25 min. Trains run frequently from 3 hours before kickoff.
Alternatively, take any NJ Transit train from Penn Station to Secaucus Junction, then the free Meadowlands shuttle bus (10 min). This option has more frequent departures.
Coach USA runs Express Buses from Port Authority Bus Terminal (42nd St) directly to the stadium on match days. Look for the FIFA/World Cup branded stops.
🎉 FIFA Fan Zone — Times Square
The official FIFA Fan Zone for New York is at Times Square. Get there early (2–3 hours before kickoff) — expect massive crowds for this fixture, especially the Brazilian contingent. Expect live music, food, big screens, and merchandise.
There's also an unofficial fan zone/watch party scene building up outside MetLife Stadium at the MetLife Plaza — a great atmosphere if you arrive early.

🏨 Where to Stay
Midtown Manhattan is the best base — you're steps from Penn Station (direct NJ Transit to MetLife) and the Times Square Fan Zone. Jersey City is a cheaper alternative with PATH train access to Manhattan and lower hotel prices.
💡 Match Day Tips
- →Leave Midtown by 2:30 pm at the latest. NJ Transit gets crowded for big matches and trains fill up fast.
- →Bring cash — street vendors around MetLife and in Times Square often prefer it.
- →Download the NJ Transit app and the MetLife Stadium app before you go. The stadium app has live parking and shuttle wait times.
- →If you're Brazilian: the Pelé entrance at MetLife is Gate D2 — traditionally the gathering spot for the yellow shirts.
- →Post-match: NJ Transit runs trains back to Penn Station every few minutes after the final whistle. Expect 30–45 min queues for the platform.
